Life's Meaning

Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - A comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate.

A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

  • Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.
  • Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.
  • Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.
  • Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. An embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.
  • Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.
Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Mental Strength

If you happen to go thru one too many ups and downs in life lately (which is NORMAL to ALL), please bear in mind that whatever happens, we need to move forward in life and face it heads on.

There is absolutely nothing wrong if we feel depressed and emotional about it with your current unpleasant situation but move on immediately! Things happen and it is, most of the time, not our fault as we have done our best.

We need to be ALWAYS mentally strong and understand the situation we are facing fully, develop plan(s) to move forward to the best of our knowledge at this point of time, and manage the plan and change it if necessary!

One's mental strength is utmost important to move on with life, there is nothing in life that we could not resolve as Spring has never failed to come after harsh cold Winter... things would definitely get better the next morning.....!

Stay calm and focused on your plan(s)n to move forward!

Remember, we are always become stronger every time we have had gone thru a storm!

Enjoy our lives.....!

Emotion or EQ?

Rainbow Lorikeet
How do we react to a given daily situation would have huge impact
to our life journey, emotion and subsequent fortune.

It indirectly dictates the way we live our lives next.....
be it happy, sad, depressed, joy, in ecstasy, in love, over-the-moon, in cloud nine, feeling unfair, lost, outcast, isolated, not-wanted, ....etc, which eventually will affect and develop into one's subsequent characters and personality!

Whatever turn of events, understand the real situation and root-causes, then manage them faced-on one issue at a time, and move on and take charge of our lives!

Don't look back, start blaming or cursing, and cry over spilled milk
as it would NOT help at all but affects people around you including those you love most!

We are fully responsible for our own past actions, live with them!

Life is wonderful out there beyond where you are now, and
you are not alone facing with many life's challenges!

This is normal and it happens to all one way or another in their lives!

"WE HAD ALWAYS COMPLAINED ABOUT OUR SHOES
UNTIL WE MET PEOPLE WITHOUT ANY FEET!"

Life is beautiful

Life is beautiful..... It is all in our mind that playing tricks on us; whether we feel pissed, sad, happy, moody, overjoy, frustrated, on-cloud-nine, lost, confused, devastated, contended, .... as it all depends on how we react to a situation/incidence!

Beware and assess the situation diligently before our emotion gets better of us and causing us hurt, making wrong judgment and creating unnecessary negative impact to our lives. And these are bad for health too!

LIFE is beautiful beyond what we are doing regardless of whether we are studying, in relationship or working.

Go and see beyond what we are doing and you can SMELL it. It is as fresh as roses under the morning sun. Whatever current setbacks we are facing needed to be managed quickly and move on. These are essential part of our lives to make us stronger and our lives fuller to go forward.

Remember SUN always rises the next day and Summers will always comes after long cold Winters.... We need to take charge of our lives now!

Count all the positives of our lives, feel good about them and move on... the fact that we can still breath today is already a big positive in our LIFE!

Hang in there....!

"Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance you must keep moving!" - Albert Einstein

Life Is About Making Choices!

Socrates (469-399BC)
"I tell you that to let no day pass without discussing goodness and all the other subjects about which you hear me talking and examining both myself and others is really the very best thing that a man can do, and that life without this sort of examination is not worth living" (Apology 38a)

Life is also about making choices... which way you want to go?

God is fair, we are all gifted and have all the rights to choose. The question for each one of us is which life path is the right route for us? And there is not just one or right path, each one of us have our own preferences... we have the right to choose!

Making decision is the best things can happen to us in our life journey. There are no "rights" or "wrongs", just follow your conscience and make the right decision for yourself which is relevant at the point of time as long as it does NOT hurt anybody including ourselves. Thereafter, don't look back and keep moving forward and manage it even if the decision made was not the best at all time! If needed, to examine where we went wrong, fix it and move forward! Most often than not, it turns out to be some great decisions made of our lives!

Our perspective changes when we move forward with time, so decision might or might not be relevant at different points of time or when we grow older!

Making BAD decision is BETTER than making none and keep procrastinating..... In the extreme, if no decision could be made, then leave it with "do nothing" as the "decision"! Enjoy........! Life is beautiful!

Life is alway beautiful beyond what we are doing?

When we are under tremendous pressure and stressed out, it is always good to take a breather by doing something differently even by walking around a different shopping mall/pasar malam to get some fresh air!

Life is more than just work (or studying for that matter!), we work because we need to maintain our family and to have a life. We do not live to work but work to live!

Life is how we want it to be instead of what life wants us to be. We take control of our life and not vice versa... If things are not working out right, there is something wrong. Either we change the situation or we change ourselves to adapt to the environment. Do not be afraid of change, it is always not pleasant initially as we are out of comfort zone beyond which, it opens up with lots of other new opportunities and possibilities!

Life is always great beyond what we are doing now... you can literally SMELL the freshness of it!

Give it a try and you would get a different perspective of things by taking a break or slow down your speed during daily life to see what LIFE is really about! Have fun!!
